UK PR campaign achievements recognised with industry commendation

13 May 2011

UK PR firm, The Partners Group, won a commendation at last night’s prestigious Drum Marketing Awards for its work with the Royal Horticultural Society.

The commendation was given for the agency's ‘Diamond Quest’ PR campaign with the Harrogate-based Harlow Carr gardens, which gave away a £2.5k diamond as part of Harlow Carr’s 60th anniversary event programme.

The campaign was highly effective in attracting visitors to the garden, with an increase of 20% in visitor numbers compared to the same period in previous years.

The Drum Awards, which this year received a record number of entries, gives an authoritative insight into the year’s marketing activities from UK-wide agencies and individuals.

Partners PR’s entry sat amongst campaigns for the likes of Debenhams, Lloyds Banking Group and Radox, pipped to the winning spot by Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger for its NAAFI tea campaign.

Last night’s award recognition comes in the same week that The Partners Group learned it has been shortlisted for the Marketing Society Northern Awards.

Says Partners director Karen Nixon, who headed the winning campaign: “This is a tremendous result and terrific recognition for our team of PR specialists, especially considering the calibre of national campaigns we were up against.

"It was a fantastic project to work on with the RHS in-house team and we were thrilled with the results.

"We’re now waiting to hear how we’ve done in the Marketing Society awards in June.”
